| We develop methods and
technologies for civil
and environmental engineering
and environmental planning and management, often focusing on
geospatial. We collaborate with specialists in environmental science,
biology,
geography, and various branches of computer science. The
idea is to carry out research in the emerging area of distributed and
multi-disciplinary problem solving where old and new modelling tools
and methods meet rapidly developing information technology and methods. The
official name of the professorship is "environmental planning and
management information technology, in particular applied
geoinformatics". Previously (2003-2008) the official name of the
professorship was "geoinformatics, in particular development of
geographic information systems for civil engineering". The group works in the Department
of

The platform is used as an enabling technology for research projects.Documentation for Geo::GDAL (the GDAL Perl bindings). Documentation for Geoinformatica Perl modules.
