Distributed Environmental Modeling

iEMSs thread established based on iEMSs and OGC MoU.
Topic
Environmental modeling that uses resources or services that exist
distributed in the Internet
Overall goal
Study the methods and technologies of distributed environmental
modeling. Identify the standards that are beneficial or which would be
beneficial (if developed) to distributed environmental modeling.
Demonstrate distributed environmental modeling. If a need for a new
standard or standards is identified work towards a shared vision and
establish a working group to develop the new standard or standards.
Current work program
Prepare state-of-the-art papers, review papers, vision papers, etc.
Organize workshops or sessions in conferences.
Liaise with key people among OGC
(especially ESS DWG),
iEMSs and broader community
(ISESS, EnviroInfo) in order to further the matter.
